- I have recently installed a Cyberstorm 060 + SCSI accelerator card into a friends
- Amiga A4000 / 030. Unfortunately we have been having technical difficulties.
-
- The system suffers from a memory corruption fault. This only occurs however
- when the 060 Superscaler option is turned on. (Data cache also seems to
- make the system more unstable)
-
- The memory range affected by this fault is 08200000H to 08220000H. Using the
- memory test programs shown below; we have found that in Superscaler mode,
- data in this range will intermittently read as 0. This as you would expect,
- shows up as a memory test failure and also causes the machine to crash
- whenever a program is loaded into this memory area. Turning off superscaler
- removes the problem (but greatly reduces the performance of the system)
-
- I have tried moving the RAM onto the A4000 motherboard - this changes
- the address of the memory block that gets corrupted but the same problem
- remains. No problem is observed with the standard CBM 030 card.
-
- Removing the CyberSCSI card also has no effect.
-
- Changing the setting of the JPA jumper has no effect in any of the 3 positions.
-
